Well, I got home late, and it looks like I'm wrong on Steele and Chafee. And it looks like Publius' money is safe.
Allen owns this. But a Republican isn't going to get the call early...
Maybe not. Is Virginia this year's Florida?
By the way, Olbermann/Williams wins the hilarious award for most hippified "news" team EVER.
Projections being pulled back in MD. Awesome. Steele deserves to win this. There was no reason to call this one so early.
How was Kyl ever in question? I way undercalled this one.
DeLay's seat gone, along with control of the House. Well, there it is. Eh. There could have been a lot worse things. The Seanate, and Stevens place on the Supreme Court, are my real concerns.
An impeached judge in line to chair the Intelligence Committee. al Qaeda is cheering tonight. Can the Conservative Dems who brought this victory keep the liberals from harming our country?
I-933 going down, no surprise. Sad, though. McGavick's loss more than I thought. I over estimated the GOP GOTV nation wide. It looks like it might be paying off in MO. It's going to come down to VA.
They called Steele immediately, and still have't called Corker. Irritating.
The average for 6th year midterms are 31.5 seat pickup. If the Dems do less than that, and in this particular year, they should be worried for their future.
Looks like a recount in VA. Crap.
Those grapes sure are sour.
The districts have been so gerrymandered and the system so rigged for incumbants that the days of huge midterm pickups are over.
In '98, the Repubs picked up 5 seats in the house, no senators and lost one governorship. Then 6 years later they were talking about installing thier permanent majority.
I really hope that divided gov't can help the parties deal with each other like adults.
btw, in the '86 race, the Dems picked up 5 seats in the house, granted they picked up 8 seats in the senate.
Well, Bush is no Reagan! All the more reason they should be doing well.
Eh. They're not that sour. The country has survived worse, after all - the malaise of Carter was followed by Reagan after all.
We paid the price for the holiday from history we all took in the 90s. Hopefully either the Democrats step up and grow up on national security now that they actually have some responsibility for it, or they don't do too much damage in the mean time.
NWCN is reporting WA-8 incorrectly. I think they're only looking at King County.
Hopefully the partisan bullshit can stop and politicians can actually work together to create solutions to help america.
SOrry, the good results must have gone to my head...
Hopefully the divided gov't can stop the bleeding and stop any more damage.
Seems like you are right Orrin.

Dave Reichert (REP)* 10,227 55%
Darcy Burner (DEM) 8,528 45%

We've had partisan BS since Adams passed the Sedition Act.
Agreed - I was getting the same from the WA SecState office.
Well, there are worse things than divided government. We'll see. Like I said, I'd be all for it but for the Democrats irresponsibly on national security.
Down to Virginia, and it's not looking good for the GOP. But it's damned tight. Hopefully this will be decided before January.
It was refreshing to actually hear a Republican (Allen) talk about recounting the votes to ensure you get an accurate count.
(see Fla 2000, Ohio/Wash 2004)
So what I want to know it this: Karl Rove and McBushitler stole the last 3 elections, why wouldn't they steal this one? Maybe the conspiracy theorists will be quiet for awhile.
Derek, Ohio wasn't even close in '04. Please.
At least there's no ACORN duplicates this time. Jus' sayin'. ;)
